Swallowing Darkness
by Laurell K. Hamilton
I did a large re-read of this series, before coming back to this series. I'm happy to say I pretty much fell back in love with these characters.
I'm also really glad that this book wraps up a lot of the plot lines that has been developing for the last few books. As always, the favorite part of this book for me was Merry's relationship with her men. I've always loved how different her men are and yet she loves them and they love her.
The only thing I don't love is the way the Goddess works in the series. She basically moves through Merry and solves all the problems, yet there seems to be more and more problems? It just seems like Merry just needs to pray to the Goddess, smell the roses, and sex will magically solve everything.
Even though the plot is pretty flux sometimes and sometimes I get tired and skip through the sex scenes; the series holds a piece of my heart.
