A Kind of Freedom by Margaret Wilkerson Sexton

4.0

I picked this book up on a whim in a bookstore, and I'm glad I did! It's really lovely. It tells the story of three generations of a black family in New Orleans - - WWII-era, the 1980s, and post-Katrina -- and the societal/cultural hardships they face. I would definitely recommend this if you're looking for something historical but also relevant to today's climate.
