Zodiac Rising by Katie Zhao is an absolutely mesmerizing read! The characters—Evangeline, Nicholas, Alice, and Tristan (and a surprise POV character)—each brought their unique personalities and powers to life in such vivid, exciting ways. The multiple points of view were perfectly balanced, making every chapter captivating and adding layers to the intricate world of the Descendants. I found myself completely invested in each of their stories and rooting for them as they embarked on this high-stakes mission to reclaim their lost magic.

With masterful storytelling, Zhao merges the captivating plot with the Chinese intricate mythology and the looming presence of the fae. Although the journey is full of action, the true essence of the story lies in the characters’ personal challenges and relationships, offering a refreshing twist on the usual fantasy plot. The way these four heroes joined forces was both captivating and emotionally charged.

And that ending—WOW! I was left in shock by the twist ending, and now I’m eagerly anticipating the release of the next book. Zodiac Rising is a must-read for anyone who loves epic fantasy with incredible character development and an unforgettable story. I highly recommend it!
