4.75 stars WOW this second book completely blew me away 🤯 I liked the first one, but The Rule of the Aurora King was even better. Book one gave all the Bachelor vibes but barely dipped into the romance… this one? All the banter, all the tension, and the slowest burn ever. Like light-a-candle-and-watch-it-melt-for-500-years slow 🕯️ I wanted to scream with the back and forth between Lor and Nadir. But in the best way.
In this one, we follow Lor and Nadir on a quest to find one of the lost artifacts that could potentially be the key to unlocking Lors Magic. And all the while, she’s trying to keep her identity hidden, especially with Nadir’s father (aka the Aurora King) and Atlas always a threat lurking in the background 👀 The forced proximity? The tension? The longing looks? Ugh, so good.
I also really loved the found family moments and how the actual family dynamics were written too. Some of those scenes hit harder than I expected ❤️ Hoping we get even more of that in the next book… and definitely more from the side characters because a few of them totally stole the show.
I’m fully obsessed and already counting down to the next one
Book 3, let’s gooo 🔥
✨ Spice: Slowww burn, heavy tension, all the yearning
✨ Tropes: Forced proximity, hidden identity, found family, enemies to almost lovers… maybe?
✨ Audiobook? Yes and YES—give me all the Nadir energy plus one of my favorite male narrators
