Insurgent Supremacists: The U.S. Far Right's Challenge to State and Empire by Matthew N. Lyons

dark informative medium-paced

4.5

Incredibly detailed tour of the far right from neonazis to LaRouchites. Lyons’ working definition of “far right” as an autonomous political force for inequality & against the established political order, is helpful by cutting through complex ideological divisions, distinguishing between right-wing oppositional & system-loyalists, & avoiding issues surrounding more controversial labels like “fascism.” Because the book covers so many groups, readers will likely leave wanting more info, to which I would recommend the Three Way Fight blog where you can find more of Lyons’ writing.
