Speak of the Devil by S.L. Scott
4.0
I'm going to be all over the place with this review, I can't seem to nail down something simple to post. First, I was rooting for these two right out of the gate, and I have no idea why. Even in the beginning, Shane was nothing special, but I just wanted to see him fall. It drove me nuts trying to figure out how the marriage thing was. Frankly, I don't think the description posted for this does the story justice. But I guess people want to know all the tropes before they start reading, I'm just not one of those people. I didn't read the description until after I finished the book, and I'm glad for that because I hate knowing too much before I go in. The description simplifies the story. Makes it seem too run of the mill second chance, when it's really not. Just like the accidental pregnancy trope isn't what it usually is. A little spoilery for me, but again, that's me liking to go in blind. I wish there was more of the story of Shane figuring things out somehow. I did enjoy the book, don't get me wrong, but I feel like after reading the description, some people may feel misled and not enjoy the story for what it actually is.
