I'll Walk Alone by Mary Higgins Clark

4.0

I can't imagine anything worse than finding out that someone has taken your child. To search for him for years, never giving up hope, only to finally be accused of taking him yourself. Wow - how much can one woman endure? Higgins Clark created a strong charactter in Zan, one who is able to survive this. Naturally however there are consequences. Black-outs, relationship failures, and self-doubts. Someone has worked hard to set up Zan for this crime. They have everyone believing it, including Zan herself. She know she could never harm her own child, and yet...
While several times throughout the story I thought I had guessed the true mastermind behind the crime, something would lead me in another direction. I nibbled around te edges, but coudld never truly decide on, or prove my theory. I like that in a mystery, which is why I keep coming back to Mary Higgins Clark and her lottery winning detective Alvirah!
