I love Iko. She is one of my favorite characters from the Lunar Chronicles and I was nervous about this short series having her as the lead since she so often is comic relief but they dive so well into her own insecurities and struggles and wants and desires and how she is still constantly evolving and I’m excited to see where that goes. I also loved seeing my precious Cress and Thorne have adorable moments. I liked seeing all the familiar faces but do wish the book took graphic novel into account a bit more with some more creative drawings of the characters to help distinguish them (Thorne should NOT look like a plain bland white guy) and have less text per box in the comic as it starts to feel very wordy and not as graphic novel interpreted. Now I’m fine reading duh but if you go with this format, it should translate well and be enhanced by it but sometimes it felt like a short novel for turned into a graphic novel but there’s a lot of text that needs to go in places that don’t have a lot of space. That’s the main gripe I have so rant over and I can’t wait to read the second book!!!
