Let me start by saying that this author has range from scifi to romance. And perhaps everything in between? Well I've read just two by him lol. One is indeed scifi (The Machine Stops) and this is the other which could be a proto-feminist/romance book.

Liked the message of a woman's self-determination on this one. The story is a more liberal Austen (I mean there should be progress because Jane's books were published decades before this) but with less flavor and wit. I didn't write this to be shady, not every book reaches the the elite level of an Emma or a Pride and Prejudice!

All that being said, A Room with a View has the spirit, candor, humor and positive messaging that are hallmarks of memorable late 19th and early 20th century romance. A good classic to add to your reading bag.
