Minor Feelings: An Asian American Reckoning by Cathy Park Hong

challenging dark emotional informative reflective sad medium-paced

5.0

This scattered prose of pulling on the thread of Asian American history unravelled a discovery of how intertwined oppression is among non-white folks. Minor Feelings is a thorough unpacking of buried feelings, suppressed by the expectation of the model minority. So many different aspects of Cathy Hong Park’s life, journey, and history are so densely packed in this. Beautifully written, extremely academic in some aspects, but overall an educational and heartbreaking read. Highly recommend.
