jcoryv 's review for:
The Crossing
by Cormac McCarthy
Listened to this on Audible. I have a decent Spanish vocabulary and worked my way through most of it, but it’s definitely a challenge listening compared to reading… mostly because I usually listen while driving which makes it difficult to look for translations when needed.
Anyway, I disliked this about as much as I enjoyed the first book. There was some beautiful prose and more than a few things to think about, but overall it just seemed pointless.
This quote from a goodreads review by “Perry” summed it up:
“McCarthy splotches this novel with soporific soliloquies told by ancient hombres at various pit stops on the odyssey to nowhere in particular.”
Hoping the final book swings back towards greatness.
