Did I know what was going to happen? Yes. Was I any less delighted by the path? Nah. This book was a fun read with so much delightful Blackness sprinkled throughout! I loved the descriptions of the characters and watching their clear and definite growth throughout the story.

One thing I really loved about this book was the therapy bit. Everyone found something useful out of having a therapist. The book didn’t rely on the trope of not communicating and therefore having silly misunderstandings based on unasked questions. The characters struggled to ask the questions and eventually find the strength and humility to ask. They vocalized their needs for their own good, no matter if they thought the answer would be in their favor or not. Love to see it!
