The Next Best Fling was such a good book to kick off this new series. Marcella has been in love with her best friend for as long as she could remember. When he gets engaged she doesn’t know how to act and neither does her best friend’s brother, Theo. They agree to fake date as Marcella figures out her feelings for Ben and Theo’s feelings for Ben’s fiancee.
The author does a great job in depicting growth in Marcella’s character. She goes from being someone who gets walked on to learning how to be confident and bold. The compassion and care that Theo held for her made my heart melt. I truly loved watching their interactions and found myself wanting more.
While I really enjoyed the book, I do wish we got a follow up to Theo’s relationship with Ben. I still was left with questions about what life looked like in the future. Overall though, this was a cute and easy read!
