Pride and Papercuts by Staci Hart
3.0
Okay it’s admission time...I’m weirdly obsessed with Pride and Prejudice. Like, I watch the 2005 version of the movie on Netflix an embarrassing amount of times per week (and every single time it rains). That kind of obsessed. So no, I will never get sick of retellings of Jane Austen novels. Side note: a book bar????! Are those actual things? In real life?? I’d love to be able to sit in a bookstore and read while enjoying a few beers. I know I technically could do that at my local Barnes & Noble but I’m pretty sure I’d get kicked out. Anyway, this was a really cute book! I liked seeing all of the Pride and Prejudice characters reimagined - Wickham was in here, and so was Collins, Georgiana, the Bingley/Jane relationship, Caroline Bingley, and Catherine de Bourgh. There were even scenes (including ~the hand scene~) and lines I recognized from the 2005 movie in here.
