Cold Days by Jim Butcher

4.0

The stakes for the Dresden Files keep on getting higher and higher and higher, which is my favorite part about this series and how long it is. I also love Dresden's newfound struggle with the winter mantle and the "monster" inside of him (and how he can now relate to Thomas on a deeper level).

What almost knocked off a few stars (but ended up only taking off one), just for being annoying, is the explanation for all the "weird" stuff that has been happening. It was a haphazard excuse and I really didn't buy it. It seems as though it is just the new "Red Court", something to tie the next part of the series together, which is FINE if it was done convincingly. I also didn't really buy that all those things (i.e. orgy sorcerer, werewolf FBI) were connected. I don't know... maybe it just needs to be explained better.
