A poignant story of an unusual historical perspective - the non-combatant diplomats in Europe during the second world war. It's a story of disintegration of bonds, and how yet they remain; how we look at responsibility from looking after those around us to a wider view, and how that in turn holds those closest to us; it's a floating story about the search for belonging and being needed. It's many things, but all done quietly and tactfully, but with a soft directness. So very Dutch!
