Be My Brayshaw
by Meagan Brandy
Captain, you broken and swoon-worthy man. My heart broke for you during this book. For all you'd been through at the hands of those who wanted to hurt you. For all your daughter had endured because of the life you were born into. For all your brothers went through to keep your head above water. Meagan Brandy really dug deep to pull out all the stops for this character and absolutely did him justice!
This story was tragic and beautiful. Victoria's perspective was gut-wrenching but she proved that nothing was going to stop her from getting the life she knew she deserved. She was so darn strong and determined. I wanted to dislike her in the beginning but as more time passed and she continued to prove her loyalty, in her own way, I was more drawn to her and her happiness. I was worried that she'd be giving Raven a run for her money, but they complimented each other in the best ways.
Be My Brayshaw was so tangled and corrupt. You really had to pay attention or you'd miss something imperative. I found myself having to go back and re-read parts of past books to refresh my memory because there was just SO MUCH going on in this world. So many small details that made huge impacts.
I really loved Captain and Victoria together. They were exactly what each other didn't know they needed. The push and pull between the characters made this such a fun read. The angst was so high and you were chomping at the bit for the fireworks to finally detonate!
Victoria's love for Captain's daughter Zoey was on another level. Some of my favorite scenes in the book were between Tor and ZoZo. Their connection to one another was unbreakable. They shared a bond that no one would ever understand. It was breathtaking.
