The Different Bride by Charu Singh
4.0

I am not a huge fan of romantic novels; however, “The Different Bride” by “Charu Singh” holds a different love story as the name suggested and makes me keep on the book till the last page.

Sometimes a book takes us deep into the world of characters, makes us fall in love with them, and makes us get lost in the vibrant and memorable love stories. The different bride is a kind of that book. This is the story of two complex characters Prakash and Chandrika. Their story starts with a phone call, led by yahoo chats, and finally, love blossoms. They both have their challenges. One has Albinism, and the other has OCPD.

I like how Charu describes their insecurities, raw emotions, and ups and downs in building a relationship. The book is set in the ’90s, and being a 90’s kid, some elements will make you nostalgic, like talking over landlines, Dialup connections, and the most popular chat rooms of Yahoo. The writing and narration are simple, making the book fast-paced and easy to read. The story is a perfect blend of drama, emotions, powerful lessons, and moments filled with revelation.
Overall, it’s worthy of your time to read.
