Lover Mine by J.R. Ward

5.0

This may have been the best novel yet in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. J.R. Ward has an amazing way to sucking you into the story and making you feel every characters emotions and sympathize with their trials and tribulations.

In this installment, John Matthew and Xhex's relationship unfolds and deepens but a shared hatred for Lash threatens thier happiness. We learn if Xhex can accept that she loves John Matthew and if they can be happy together. As a result of John Matthew's experience with Xhex's abduction, he has a revelation about his relationship with his adoptive father figure, Tohr. Additionally we learn about the events that lead to Xhex's birth.
One development in this novel that I found particularly interesting was the change in Quinn and Blay's relationship. Quinn has always shrugged off Blay's love for him. But when Blay has a chance at another relationship, we learn that the line Quinn has drawn in their relationship is not so clear. I wouldn't be shocked if the next installment in the series is about Quinn and Blay. This book seemed to highlight their relationship in a similar way to Xhex and JM's relationship was highlighted in the previous book.
Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and am strongly considering re-reading it!
