tbh, i didn't really know what i was expecting when i decided to pick this book up. i saw fantasy, horror, and gay and thought 'sure i'll devote my reading time for this copy' and holy shit was it interesting. it's a lot darker than i thought it was going to be and i really enjoyed the different greco-roman creatures the author spun in the story. some i knew, others not so much. i liked how cass was developed in the story and how we got his inner dialogues about himself, his past, and his thoughts on the entire shit show. i did wish the characters were developed a little more
maybe then bellamy and silas's death would be more impactful, with how their relationship with victoria and fred worked and developed as the story progressed, but the two men's death fell a bit flat in my opinion.
otherwise, i really enjoyed the story and, seeing as how this is book 1, i'll keep a lookout for book 2 in the future.
