When we begin this book we meet Samantha. Samantha is an artist and her bestfriend's name is Renee. There are many flashbacks throughout the book going back to memories from when Samantha and Renee were younger. They're adults now and it is time for Renee's wedding. Samantha was supposed to drive from LA to NY for the wedding, low and behold her long time boyfriend Steven informs her, at the last minute, that he can no longer make the drive with her because he got a new internship that will really help his career. Renee does not want Samantha to make that drive by herself so she sets it up for Samantha to ride with Tristan, Renee's older brother. Tristan is the typical "cool guy" who doesn't care about anyone's feelings and gets any girl he wants. Or is he? While on the road Steven lays a big bomb on Samantha that she just can not handle. Will Smanatha continue to deal with always coming 2nd to Steven's career? Will Tristan reveal he may not be who we thought him to be? Will either of them have a happy ending? Only one way to find out.
