Compelled By The Vampire
by Kellie McAllen
Alright
Overall, this was an intriguing plot with great potential in the world building. Rouge vampires, new vampires and an agency meant to monitor them all. Great ideas! However, I bumbled through this, lost to disjointed pages and extreme reactions - not to mention confusion over when the actual main characters are! The blurb leads me to believe Caroline and Roric are the stars, and while the majority of the text appears from their third person POV, there are plenty of of other POV chapters from other characters with no clear delineation in the chapter head of WHO we are viewing now.
Pros:
- World building is fascinating.
- Some Character development.
- Meta Plot is intriguing.
Cons:
- Disjointed.
- Too many additional POV chapters from other characters.
- Gets confusing.
- After deep POV introspection, when the final decision is made my Caroline, we do NOT get to peer into her head as to why!
