Seven Words of Christmas: The Joyful Prophecies That Changed the World by Robert Morris

4.0

Seven Words of Christmas is a small, easy-to-read-and-digest book that is perfect for use during Advent. In the book, Pastor Robert Morris goes through seven words of prophecy spoken around the time of Jesus' birth. Each word is broken up into three days' readings, and each reading takes maybe five minutes to complete - making this perfect for use as a devotional in the three weeks leading up to Christmas. But if you don't want to use it that way, you can also just read through it - it would only take an hour or two to read the whole thing.

Because this is a coffee table/gift-style book, I need to mention that it's really pretty! I love the way the pages are laid out and the touches of color. The one thing that isn't great is the divider pages. They look really pretty, but the font used for the Bible verse that goes with each word is printed in a very light font that's a little difficult to read, just because it's so light, printed on a darker (colored) background.

This is a book that I would definitely recommend as we head into the Christmas season - it will help cut through the hustle and bustle (although it might not be as crazy as normal this year!) and get your heart focused back on the true meaning of Christmas.
