I hated this book. I think a different author would have written a quality book about Elphaba but this author had some sick thoughts that he didn't keep inside his own head. The major issues occurring in the land of Oz / the themes of the book are solid but the author rambles too much about good versus evil for the entire book, the racism and transhobia felt sensationalized instead of challenging, and the second half of the book was a whole lot of nothing. Did not enjoy. Would not recommend.
