The North Wind by Alexandria Warwick

4.0

This was pitched to me via BookTok as "beauty and the beast meets Hades and Persephone" - and yes, after reading I would recommend to other based on the same pitch. For me the book focused very much on building the characters, especially the relationship between the two leads, and less on the world. There were definitely inconsistencies with the lore and the villains, and there were times (especially towards the end) where the romance escalated too much too quickly and felt a bit cheesy and over the top. But overall, this was fun. And I like that. The relationship between Wren and Boreas is prickly and deadly and fun for a lot of the book - and for all her inconsistencies as a character (i.e one minute ruthless, the next berating Boreas for the same, the next back to ruthless) it didn't impact my enjoyment.
