emotional
mysterious
slow-paced
this book was not at all what i was expecting. i was expecting more of a mystery/thriller, and this book is not at all those things.
more realistically, i believe this book is a portrait of grief, how various individuals deal with grief, and an interesting look into family dynamics.
i listened to this as an audiobook and it is really a very short book, a novella. it was interesting, and very emotionally provoking at points. but overall i did not feel any type of way for any characters, and struggled to figure out their motives/purpose in many scenes. hence the 2.5⭐️ rating - i found this book to be perfectly average. i’m not upset i listened to it, but wouldn’t necessarily recommend it to someone. average, if not a little disappointing. don’t go into it looking for a mystery/thriller!!!!!
