This was an excellent read! It told an engaging story of the hunt for the perpetrator of multiple murders without sensationalizing the acts or glorifying the police or the killer. In an age of true crime podcasts, it's refreshing to read something as close to the unvarnished truth that one can find in print.
I appreciate the delicacy with which Ling approached the subject and his obvious empathy for the victims and their families. He tells the story through the lens of his personal experience with the case, but it is never about him or his journalistic prowess. I particularly appreciated is critiques of the Canadian law enforcement, and journalistic coverage of serial killers and missing persons.
I learned a lot from this book, and I hardly wanted to put it down!
