Book Lovers by Emily Henry

5.0

Run - do not walk - to your nearest bookstore or library and GET. THIS. BOOK. It lovingly plays on the typical tropes and plot lines of any given Hallmark movie, but in a unique, still unexpected way. Nora is one of my favorite protagonists lately and her banter with Charlie and Libby is so natural and doesn’t feel contrived or forced like a Hallmark movie might.

Also, the conflicts and struggles that these characters deal with are also very grounded and real. You feel their pain and their internal conflict as you read and empathize with them. I felt similarly when I read People We Meet on Vacation, but I felt it even more with this book. It was sharper, like the tooth of a shark.

tl;dr: it’s no secret that Emily Henry just keeps getting better and better, but for now, Book Lovers is her best yet.
