Oh, my stars – what did I just read? This book was action packed and a roller coaster of twists and turns. I was hooked from the beginning and finished this book in one day! I love a good dystopian story. Throw in a badass FMC, compelling MMC’s and make it a why choose? Oh yeah, I’m going to gobble this one up!
The world building was well thought out and intriguing. The character development was amazing, and I found myself invested in all of them. The plot was intense. I never knew from one page to the next what was going to happen and what new twist was about to unfold.
The games were creative and intense, and the rules were explained well. I loved the cheat sheet for the players, games and rules. I think Game 3 was my favorite!
The book is written mostly in first person from Raven’s POV. The other characters were in third person POV. At first, I wasn’t sure if I would like this format but for this book it really worked.
And that cliffhanger??!!?? Really?? That was how you wanted to end the first book? That was brutal! I quickly flipped pages hoping there was more and when I realized that was the end, my heart sank, and my jaw dropped. I need the next book ASAP!
I absolutely loved this book! Sage is a very talented author, and I can’t wait to read more from her. I would highly recommend this book and this author!
