One of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus
4.0

One of Us Is Lying was a fun romp of a read. It's a modern Breakfast Club with a murderous twist, where five teens from different social groups get sent to detention, and one of them ends up dead, right there in detention.

First of all, I loved the characters that Karen M. McManus developed here. My personal favourite was Nate--you've got to love a tortured bad boy!--and how his relationship with Bronwyn, the brain and former best friend, want to be better. I also really felt for Cooper, the jock, and his experience (not sharing it here to avoid spoilers).

The only criticisms I'd have of this is that the middle got a little slow, and that the climax wasn't super climactic for me. But the very ending...can't wait to read book 2!
