The Ballad of Black Tom by Victor LaValle

3.0

3.5
I started reading this book without knowing it is a retelling of Lovecraft’s The Horror at Red Hook, which it explains why I was confused in some parts of the book.
But I did enjoy it. The writing is well-done and creepy and it definitely gives me chills. And I would love to read more of LaValle’s works in the future
