Identity by Nora Roberts

Oh. My. Gosh. Where do I start.

This book is the perfect mix of eerie and suspense coupled with classy romance. The romance isn’t in your face or too descriptive. Just enough to get a sense of the true love blossoming between them. And oh my the suspense. You know he will eventually come for her, but you don’t know when or what will happen. I loved that I didn’t know fully how it was going to end. Gavin is an actual psychopath and Nora Robert’s definitely paints him that way - and well. It makes you sick hearing about his inner workings and plots.

The way she wrote the story is also done so well. It felt like whiplash, but in a good way. You see Morgan enjoying her life, finally getting her bearings, catching feelings for a cute guy, and BANG Gavin does it again. It adds wonderfully to the story to have both sides of it.

Nora Roberts writing seems to be “less is more”. She hardly ever mentions who is talking or their feelings. You have to pick that up with the words and context. Sometimes I had difficulty following along with who was talking, but maybe that’s cause I’m dumb. Idk. She adds lots of great description in the settings and actions, but much less in how the people think and feel. All that said, it’s not necessarily bad if that’s what you’re in to. The ending was super intense, but was over so quickly. I was expecting a bit more.

Overall, loved the book. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Many scary shocking and lovely heart melting moments.
