**a note that altho elle fanning as narrator wasn’t that bad at all, I look fwd to her starring in this tv series more than her narrating it.
funny thing here is that I had a kid at 19 and went to fullerton jr. college (not with my professor thankfully). but that’s probably where the similarities in our stories start and end- that is, not counting some of the same places we liked eating at? lol.
maybe because I listened to most of this book, I wondered about the toggling btwn 3rd and 1st person
pov. i kept getting caught up in analyzing what service it did for the book and not coming to any clue of the answer. maybe more of the opposite.
however, enjoyed the ease in falling for and following faithfully the main character and her baby; her dad even; and the rumba #iykyk. i liked that the novel kept to the information it intended to share- sex work is dignified work, addiction is bigger than a toxic trait, and single (teen) parents are parents too. i applauded this.
my notes for the plot is that shyanne really needed to be put in her place about her own real life theatrics and if anyone groomed margo to see the value in performing desire at any cost for personal gain, it’s her.
