not one of king’s best books but even his ‘worst’ are comparatively good books. 

a bit too slow-paced for me, and the ending left me with more questions than answers about Charlie’s motivations for some of his actions

like him sealing off the portal to Empis when he still needs the gold to at least pay for the house?? does he think a layer of concrete is going to stop it?? bc all i could think of was someone doing renovations on that house in the future and suddenly finding a portal to a whole other world
