Atlas and Harlowe’s story is so good. He’s the prodigal son, coming back to his small town in Wyoming to take over his mentor’s vet practice, and Harlowe works search and rescue with her dad and her dog, Echo. They meet when Echo gets heat exhaustion on a rescue. They bond and have instant chemistry, but once she finds out Atlas is her ex’s brother, she’s not interested. But it’s hard for them to stay away from each other, and now that Harlowe’s ex is back in town and gunning for her promotion, she decides to fake date Atlas. 

I loved the relationship development and bonding that these two have, especially when they have shared experiences. They both can experience trauma in their jobs, and the way they were able to share that was really beautiful. The story moves very nicely, and the ending is really drama filled and exciting! I had such a good time reading this book, and I love this couple (and Echo!) so much. If you’re looking for a great small town romance with all the feels, look no further!
