I watch Sister Wives and also read the fantastical snarky Sister Wives blog, so I already knew pretty much all of what they discussed in the book. I did find it interesting that before the show this family lived in total secrecy for fear of persecution, mostly just because I cannot understand why people would care so much (if you don't like polygamy then don't do it, etc). Ironically one of the wives wrote about this in the book, how she couldn't "fathom" how in this day and age people can't be tolerant. My hackles went up a bit as I feel fairly certain that the Mormon church, and especially the fundamentalist branch, is probably less than tolerant of gay rights, for example, but whatever. The book dragged.
