This was an entertaining read, if a little unrealistic. It was also a bit insta-love, but not unbearably so. :-) Dru was supposed to get married. Instead of getting married, after finding her fiance fucking one of her bridesmaids just before the wedding, she got plowed, waved down a plane bound for Alaska and got on board. She knew nobody in Alaska, but she stumbled upon Badd's, a local bar, and met Sebastian. She proceeded to get wasted *again*, and when she tried to leave, Bast picked her up from the rain, brought her upstairs to the apartment, helped her undress (trying so hard to be a gentleman) to get her into the shower to warm up, and then (barely) turning her down when she threw herself at him.
The next morning, Bast's SEAL brother has shown up. When they start fighting, Dru inserts herself to break it up and ends up taking Zane down, which is unusual since he's a SEAL. Turns out, all of Bast's brothers are due to show up soon due to a requirement of their father's will, so there are a LOT of characters introduced. And, I must say, their descriptions make me want to visit Alaska to see if there really is a family with eight incredible looking boys, lol. Anyway, there are some unresolved issues between all the boys, so there's lots of fighting between them, but throughout is the story of Dru and Bast sort of each letting down their guard to become a great couple.
When Dru's former fiance showed up, my jaw was kinda dropped throughout his entire "explanation". What was the fucking point? Other than her getting closure, it almost seemed like he showed up specifically to hurt her with his words. No remorse. About any of the fucked up shit he'd done. The one saving grace is that other than confusion, Dru felt nothing for him. Plus she had a much better guy in the wings providing much-needed support.
Like I said, it was a little insta-love-y. They got really close really fast, but it was still an enjoyable, sexy story. I'll continue with the series, especially since we got a sneak peek of what Zane's story will be about. No strings... suuuuuure. :-)
