Abel King is the perfect protective teddy bear with a grumpy exterior. Abel is so hard on himself but he wants the world for those he cares about. He just lights up as his relationship with Sloane and the twins develops. He immediately falls into his husband and father roles like that missing puzzle piece. Sloane is so strong and despite her past is so open to love and what her new life can offer. These two are perfectly matched, they just see and understand each other in a way no one else has. They quickly find themselves being vulnerable with each other. Honorable mention to the sweetest scenes between Abel and the twins! I recommend this for fans of a protective MMC with a past or the marriage of convenience trope. This book was excellent and I could not put it down!
