Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly (Updated Edition) by Anthony Bourdain
4.0
A journeyman's journey through food.
Bourdain has a rockstar quality in how he describes his life of debauchery in a way that fascinates rather than disgusts, and shows his growth from irresponsible kid to responsible, if still a bit uncouth, adult against the backdrop of "the restaurant scene."
I particularly loved the chapters "A Day in the Life" and "The Life of Bryan", both of which provided such painstaking detail into their environments to make it feel as though I lived it.
