A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

the first three quarters move SO. SLOW. and then on the switch of a dime everything becomes insanely fast and two characters who seemingly barley tolerated each other are willing to do insane acts to protect one another? also why did the last quarter of the book go from fairy to straight up Dune levels of barbaric???

the plot was interesting enough to keep me reading but i must confess, i skimmed the last half just so i could know the ending….. i think the plot twist at the end was really effective and the author allowed us readers the space to truly put it together rather than being told outright what was happening which i appreciated as it made it that much more satisfying.
