The Catalog: F/M, witches, loose Pride and Prejudice vibes, loathe at first sight, silly mini dragon sidekick, grumpy MMC, FMC with a closed heart & huge secret, cozy vibes

Synopsis: Elspeth and the other Moonflower women have a huge secret: they can’t do magic. After an unfortunate curse is placed upon them, they must marry to unlock their magic, or else continue living as criminals in a land where it’s illegal to reside without magic. However, Elspeth would rather kiss a frog than fall in love, especially not with the grumpy tavern owner Draven, who mysteriously keeps ending up falling on top of her.

Thoughts:
This was a cute and cozy, low stakes paranormal romance that had just the right amount of Pride and Prejudice inspo!

I really loved the instant loathing between Elspeth and Draven, their bickering was a lot of fun, especially when it eventually sparked something a little hotter than hate.

Elspeth is the archetypical older sister, looking after her siblings and child-like mother, navigating a nomadic lifestyle to keep them safe. Draven is very much Darcy coded, a loner, socially unpleasant, and feeling lost in his duties to his own sister.

Their romance is a bit of a slow burn as they navigate the complicated line between hate and lust, but when it finally explodes, it is so gratifying.

A perfect read for cozy lovers!!
