We're introduced to Pasha and Riordan early on but quickly learn that Pasha is really sweet little Priscilla all grown up and now everything going on is so much more personal. The Bratva that Priscilla is undercover investigating are responsible for her sexual assault when our characters were young. Riordan lost her once, but now that she's in the relative safety of his care he won't lose her again. This is a spicy mafia romance, book 3 in the Astoria Royals series. I haven't read the first two but that didn't inhibit my listen of Sleeping with the Enemy at all, but rather I know if I were to go back and read them I would be expanding on this universe that Deborah Garland has created so well. I knew this story had spice, but this was definitely 5 star spicy. If you love a good mafia, THAD, morally grey man you'll fall in love with Riordan and honestly probably his brothers too. the Narrators nailed this performance bringing the book to life. I don't usually enjoy pregnancy trope stories but it was such a small part of the plot that I didn't mind at all. *Almost gun play for those dark spice lovers
