The English Assassin by Daniel Silva

3.0

Gabrie allon is an assassin that moonlights as an art restorer, which is his true passion. He is commissioned for a restoration of a piece of artwork under strange and mysterious circumstances. When he arrives at the location of his next restoration assignment, he encounters something he had not been expecting. He is then drawn into the world of conspiracy and secrecy that had his life threatened and nearly taken. As always, I enjoy the intrigue and the action of these types of books. Gabriel Allon is an assassin with a heart, who is really adversely affected by the king. Nonetheless, he is a pro at what he does as an art restorer and an assassin. There weren't things that I disliked about this book per se, but the title did suggest that the English assassin would have been a bit more instrumental than I felt he was in this novel. I give this book a solid 3-star rating and look forward to the next installment of this series.
