The Becoming of Noah Shaw by Michelle Hodkin

2.0

Ugh, this was a rough ride.
I think I shouldn´t have started this second series. I liked the ending in Mara´s series.
This just got more complicated and it made me really pissed.

I know that Mara was never some fragile flower, but who is she now?
She didn´t change, she just finally show who she always was. And it´s not something pretty.
Before, I liked that she was kind of „bad“, she liked to destroy. But now...I just want choke her, I guess.
I don´t have faith in her anymore. But I hope, she will prove me wrong.

„I close my eyes, and when I open them, everyone – Daniel, Jamie, Goose, Sophie – has a trickle of blood running from their noses. Mara appears to be smiling.“ -Noah

„´She is not a serial killer,´ Daniel says. ´She is not a mass murderer.´
They are statements, not questions, and I am not even sure Daniel believes them. His heart is racing, I notice uneasily.“ -Noah

„See? That´s your endgame. And hers. Alas, you are the hero, she is the villain – the star-crossed lovers, fated to be apart.“ -Jamie

„She wants you broken. She likes broken things. Loves that she is the one breaking you.“ -Stella

And Noah? I don´t know what to think of him. I was expecting of him to do something for the entire book, but he finally did the right thing in the end. Thank you.

P.s. I have to admit that I think there is not going to be a happy ending in this series. Unfortunately.
