I usually like DND-like stories. However this one was not so great. Every character (maybe except Arek) was too stereotypical with a shallow personality. We do not get to know them at all. Also the worldbuilding isn't good as well. I get this book is supposed to be romance and the fantasy elements of it are "less important".
Negatives:
- the second half of the story was annoyingly obvious and repetitive, I had to push myself to finish it
- it was cringeworthy sometimes
- plot was... blatantly obvious so I guess not much of a plot
- this book would be half as long if the main characters have sat together and talked once about their feelings
Positives:
- the first half was easy to read
- it was funny sometimes
- there were elements that I found cute
- I liked the grumpy castle keeper
- a nice representation of sexual and gender minorities
I guess I just do not like romance for the sake of romance.
