Once Upon an Eid: Stories of Hope and Joy by 15 Muslim Voices by S.K. Ali, Aisha Saeed

4.0

It was really interesting to get a peek into so many different ways Eid is celebrated. I hadn’t really considered how many places in the world Muslims live and all the different places Eid would be celebrated.

At one point the book mentions people coming as slaves and celebrating Eid. American history, as I’ve learned it, completely leaves out Muslims who were slaves.

I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because many of the stories felt incomplete and I would have liked a little bit more.
