Owen and Barrett have been best friends for 10 years, they work together and they are inseparable. They've also been secretly in love with each other.
I adore reading books about friends that fall in love. It's my favorite. All the pining and tension is the best.
What I really really liked in this book was that the reasons they didn't express their feelings was more than a misunderstanding and them not wanting to ruin their friendship. I particularly felt for Owen. Something happened to him that hurt him and made him stay away from relationships in general and Barrett geniounly believed Owen only wanted his friendship.
I also really liked the way the author made them face their feelings.
I absolutely adored them together. Their banter was so sweet and cute and the way Barrett took care of Owen and helped him see that there was nothing wrong with his desires warmed my heart. They were wonderful characters that grew and learned.
I adored every single word in this book. I couldn't put it down and at the same time I didn't want it to end. I wanted more Owen and Barrett. They are a new favourite couple.
The side characters were all brilliant too. I loved this found family and I hope Anders will get his own book.
And if you need another reason to read it, there is an adorable cat!
Fantastic book, I highly recommend it and I can't wait to read more from the author.
