I don't even know where to start. This book has all of my favorite tropes wrapped up in one, plus add in Hockey, Charity, and Art. This is now my favorite book in the series, and Asher and Maeve completely stole my heart! Best Friends to Lovers, Brother's Best Friend, and Marriage of Convenience, just to name the big ones. Add in a charity date auction, a trip to Vegas, a dream job on the line, and a dog needing to be rescued. Oh, and did I mention that her brother, Max, is his teammate and best friend, too?
Asher and Maeve met almost a decade ago when they were both deep in grief from losing a loved one. They bonded in a way few people ever experience, and the friendship they built is something so special. This made "the fall" so much more fun to experience. They each have their own personal struggles they need to come to terms with along the way, and being able to lean on each other even more than normal helps them realize how special what they have really is. But, they have to decide if it's worth the risk. So many things are on the line; a job, reputations, friendships, a place to live. Go read it to see what happens. You won't regret it!
Also, Ruby Roo is pretty much the best side character ever. Give me a rescue dog any day of the week
