Kusamakura by Natsume Sōseki
3.0
Honestly a great book, but I struggled to get through it. I get the idea and I like the concept of the haiku novel, but I am so impatient it was hard for me to finish. I did finish it though, and it was beautiful and remarkable, but it is for sure my least favorite of Soseki's works. Kokoro kills it in the feels department, I Am A Cat is hilariously scathing about academic types, The Miner is bizarre but also my favorite. But this book just didn't quite do it for me.
Still very pretty though.
