I really enjoyed this book. I really liked the world building and that they explored some of the negative effects of the hero’s actions, especially on the innocents. I called the main twist at the end of this book, and I’m partially curious to keep going to see if my other theories prove to be true. Potential spoiler: this is more theory that they are fated mates or something like that, but it’s hinted at pretty strongly. This isn’t my favorite plot device, but I do appreciate how they slow burned it, and didn’t fall into some of the tropes around this device that really annoy me. I’m optimistic for the next book!
